FWSA Postgraduate Event Funding – Deadline 1 June 2011

The Feminist and Women’s Studies Association (FWSA) is offering a small grant of £250 for postgraduate members who wish to organise workshops, seminars or conferences in the fields of feminist, women’s and/or gender studies. This money can be used for a variety of purposes, including paying speakers costs, providing refreshments, or hiring facilities, and it can be used alongside other awards.

The FWSA require a short proposal from members who wish to apply for these funds containing the following:

  • A detailed plan of the event, including topic and rationale, structure, invited  speakers, CFP or poster, and, if available, programme;
  • A strategy for attracting delegates (particularly from other institutions) and planned numbers;
  • A detailed budget showing specifically for what FWSA funding will be used.

Spring Ball – all staff and students welcome

What are you doing on Saturday night? Last chance to attend the  Ball!

The ball is taking place this Saturday (7th May) at the Renaissance Hotel on Deansgate.

The ball will include a Kir Roylale reception, a three course sit down meal (meat and veggie options available) and live Jazz music as well as a DJ to help us party through the night – all for just £35!.
You will also get a chance to win lots of great prizes, kindly provided by our sponsors, in the charity raffle. All University of Manchester students and staff are welcome!
