International Inteprofessional Health and Social Care Conference: Learning Better Together, on the 6th and 7th of July 2010

Manchester Metropolitan University, the University of Salford and the University of Manchester are staging the 2nd International Inteprofessional Health and Social Care Conference: Learning Better Together, on the 6th and 7th of July 2010. The conference will be held in the Geoffrey Manton Building at Manchester Metropolitan University and will also include a conference dinner at the Whitworth Art Gallery. The key themes of the conference include the following:

  • The use of simulation in interprofessional education (IPE)
  • Learning Technologies and IPE
  • Integrated Models of Service Delivery
  • Theoretical frameworks
  • Collaborative Learning in Practice
  • Student assessment in IPE

Attached to this e-mail is a flyer for the conference with further details, and we would like to invite you and any of your colleagues that might have an interest in any of these areas of health and social care delivery to attend the conference and submit a paper or poster for presentation.

Keynote speakers for the conference include:

  • Paul Manners Director of the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement and Executive Producer of the BBC Learning Division.
  • Professor John Carpenter – Professor of Social Work and Applied Science, University of Bristol, Researcher for the Department of Health and the NHS.
  • Associate Professor Ivy Oandasan – Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, Director of the Office of Interprofessional Education at the University of Toronto, Provincial Co-lead for the Health Force Ontario Strategy’s Interprofessional Care Project.
  • Professor Hugh Barr – Chair of CAIPE; Editor in Chief of the Journal of Interprofessional care and Emeritus Professor of IPE at the University of Westminster.
